When a tooth is lost, the jawbone that used to hold it stops receiving pressure and begins to shrink, losing roughly 25% of its width in the first year alone. The neighbouring teeth drift into the gap, the opposing tooth over-erupts, and chewing load shifts onto teeth that were never designed to carry it. This is why a gap ignored for three years is a far more expensive problem than a gap treated in three months.

A dental implant is a titanium screw placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Once the bone fuses to it through a process called osseointegration, a custom crown is fixed on top. Unlike a bridge, it does not require grinding down the healthy teeth on either side. Unlike a denture, it does not move, and it keeps the bone alive.

Chetna Dental Centre has been placing implants in Lucknow for over a decade, with the crown fabricated in our own CAD/CAM laboratory on site. That in-house lab is the reason our implant timelines are shorter than clinics that outsource. There is no courier waiting between the impression and the fit.

You probably need this if…

  • You have one or more missing teeth and chew only on one side
  • Your denture slips, clicks, or has to be removed to eat properly
  • A tooth has been extracted and the gap has been there for months
  • A tooth is cracked below the gum line and cannot be saved
  • You have been told you need a bridge but do not want healthy teeth cut down
  • Your face looks sunken or older because of long-term tooth loss

Recognising two or more of these does not confirm a diagnosis. It means an examination is worth booking before the problem gets more expensive.

How the treatment works

  1. 01
    Assessment and CBCT scan

A 3D cone-beam scan measures the exact bone height, width and density at the site, and maps the position of the nerve. This is what decides whether you need a graft. Guessing from a 2D X-ray is how implants fail.

  2. 02
    Digital planning

The implant position is planned on the scan before anything is placed, so the screw ends up where the crown needs to be, not where the bone happened to be convenient.

  3. 03
    Implant placement

A 30–45 minute procedure under local anaesthesia. Most patients drive themselves home and return to work the next day. Bone grafting or a sinus lift is done in the same sitting if needed.

  4. 04
    Healing and osseointegration

3 to 6 months while the bone fuses to the implant. A temporary tooth can be fitted so you are never without a front tooth.

  5. 05
    Crown fabrication and fit

A digital scan goes to our in-house CAD/CAM lab, and a zirconia or PFM crown is milled, shade-matched to your natural teeth and fitted.

What dental implants costs in Lucknow

Dental implant cost in Lucknow depends on the number of missing teeth, the implant system, the final crown or bridge and any preparation the bone needs. A useful estimate accounts for the complete replacement tooth, not just the implant fixture.

Your written estimate sets out the recommended treatment and any separate charges. The guide below explains what to check before agreeing to the plan.

Planning your treatment budget

What affects your fee?

Compare the scope of the treatment, the recommended materials and the follow-up care. Your assessment establishes the plan that is appropriate for you and the estimate for that plan.

What to check in your quotation

Check that the plan identifies the implant fixture, abutment and final crown or bridge, along with scans, surgical planning, temporary teeth and review appointments.

Additional work to discuss

Extractions, bone grafting, a sinus lift or additional implants may be separate items. The assessment establishes which, if any, are needed before the final plan is agreed.

Factors that determine your cost

  1. The implant system

A Korean or Indian system and a Swiss or German one are both good implants. They differ in the research behind them, the surface treatment, and how easily a part can still be sourced in ten years.

  2. The crown on top

Metal-ceramic or zirconia. That is a visible difference as much as a cost one, and it matters far more on a front tooth than on a molar.

  3. Whether the bone needs building first

If the tooth has been missing a while the ridge narrows. A graft or a sinus lift adds both cost and several months of healing. A CBCT scan settles this before anything is quoted.

  4. How many teeth

Replacing several teeth may involve individual implants or an implant-supported bridge. The design, implant count and laboratory work determine the total scope.

How your fee is confirmed

  1. The dentist examines your teeth and discusses your concerns. Any necessary imaging or records are explained, along with their charges.
  2. You discuss suitable treatment options, materials and any additional work needed.
  3. You receive a written plan showing what is included, any separate charges, the total fee and payment stages. Treatment begins after you agree to the plan.

Treatment needs vary between patients. Your written estimate sets out the agreed procedures, inclusions and separate charges before you decide. If new findings change the plan, the dentist discusses the options and revised estimate with you before continuing.

Questions

Dental Implants: questions patients ask

How much does a dental implant cost in Lucknow?

Dental implant cost in Lucknow depends on the number of missing teeth, the implant system, the final crown or bridge and any preparation the bone needs. A useful estimate accounts for the complete replacement tooth, not just the implant fixture. After assessment at Chetna Dental Centre in Aashiana, you receive a written estimate identifying the treatment, inclusions and any separate charges before you decide.

Is a dental implant painful?

The placement itself is done under local anaesthesia and most patients report it as less uncomfortable than an extraction. Mild soreness for 2–3 days afterwards is normal and is managed with routine painkillers. Patients typically return to work the next day.

How long do dental implants last?

The titanium fixture is designed to be permanent and, with good hygiene and regular check-ups, routinely lasts 20 years or more. The crown on top is the wearing part and may need replacement after 10–15 years. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes are the two biggest factors that shorten implant life.

Can I get an implant if I have diabetes?

Yes, provided your blood sugar is controlled. We ask for a recent HbA1c reading. Under 7% is generally safe for implant surgery. Uncontrolled diabetes slows healing and raises the risk of failure, so we will stabilise that first rather than proceed and hope.

How long after extraction can I get an implant?

In many cases an implant can be placed immediately in the extraction socket during the same appointment. Where there is infection or significant bone loss, we wait 2–3 months for the socket to heal. The CBCT scan decides which route applies to you.

Implant or bridge: which is better?

A bridge requires grinding down the two healthy teeth on either side of the gap and does nothing to stop bone loss underneath. An implant preserves those teeth and maintains the bone. A bridge is cheaper upfront and faster, and remains a reasonable choice when the adjacent teeth already need crowns.
